Chloe Chen

Founder

Chloe Chen founded Ballet Refuge with a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence, and beauty of dance, regardless of their financial circumstances.

A dedicated pre-professional ballet dancer, Chloe has trained at Ramon Moreno School of Ballet (RMSB) and San Francisco Ballet School (SFB), and has attended prestigious summer programs including Houston Ballet Academy (HBA), San Francisco Ballet (SFB), Ellison Ballet, and School of American Ballet (SAB). She has earned 1st Place at internationally recognized competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), ADCIBC, Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), and California Dance Classics (CDC), and was given the admissions an scholarships to many prestigious ballet schools.

Through her own journey, Chloe has seen both the incredible opportunities ballet can provide and the financial barriers many aspiring dancers face. Inspired by this, she founded Ballet Refuge to give new life to gently used dancewear, shoes, and costumes while helping young dancers access the resources they need to pursue their dreams.

Today, Chloe personally leads Ballet Refuge's outreach efforts, partnering with dancers, studios, competitions, and supporters to collect and redistribute dance gears to young dancers in need.

Her vision is to build a community where generosity, compassion, and a shared love of dance ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, perform, and thrive.

"Dance has been such an important aspect of my life, and I strive to improve every day while sharing the joy of dance with others."
